 | |  Putoline Oil sold to Kroon Oil |
|
 |

Putoline Oil has been sold to the Dutch specialist oil company, Kroon Oil.
The change over will be gradual so that the day to day performance of Putoline service worldwide will not be affected.
John Hayden the owner of Putoline Distribution UK said, This is a fantastic opportunity, globally, for Putoline. We have experienced a huge increase in sales over the last ten years and this has inevitably put quite a strain on our current production facilities.
The new venture will make it possible to take Putoline to a new and unprecedented level of both product and service. He added, We are delighted with this outcome, to be able to join forces with a company with the strength of Kroon Oil is exactly what we need.
Kroon Oil was founded in 1906 and has developed into one of the largest independent lubricant specialists in Western Europe, producing its own range of lubricants for the motorcycle, auto and agricultural markets.

 | |  Cotswold Enduro Club - Return of the Quad! |
|
 |

The Cotswold Enduro Club is planning to run 4 quad rounds for 2008 with the view to expand this if they get the support.
Several riders within the club that rode quads with us in the past and still marshal at many events have expressed interest in running quad events in the future but at present neither have the experience or infrastructure to do that.
So the Cotswold have agreed to show them the ropes and provide as much help and advice as possible to ensure that. If they do decide to got for it in 2009 they will be well prepared in every aspect of running top quality enjoyable safe events for the four wheelers.
I know there are many clubs out there most doing excellent jobs but a large number of them seem to be down the south of the country, so I believe there is a need for a club to be Midland based. I believe there are a large number of quad riders out there that as yet have never ridden in an event for what ever reason maybe they feel it too hard on the quad or just feel their not good enough ect.
But that is the beauty of the hare & hound event; you have 2 – 3 hours of riding making your own stops as and when you like. For example; ride 2 laps pull into the pits have a burger, read the paper and then go and do another lap or two. As long as you do things within the rules you can do as much or as little as you like.
Cotswold Enduro Club along with Nigel Wheatley of newly formed track at Enduroland, Towcester are planning several introductory events this year aimed at Sportsman, Clubman and any newcomers to the sport to give them an insight into quad endurance racing. Also planned is a series of 4x4 quad challenge rounds, which will incorporate some bizarre and challenging obstacles and hopefully will be supported by the quad industry, with tryouts and full model ranges on display.
Nigel Wheatley is also the man behind the quad show at Towcester race course which I believe will go from strength to strength with lots planned for the show scheduled to take place in September.
So its up to you lot to support us and the other clubs that are out there. With out the support clubs and organisers will come and go in quick succession, because to put an event on now days cost several thousands of pounds to stage. With land fees, first aid cover, toilets, consumables, insurance ect and so on, that’s without the man power which very often is given free. Maybe the industry need to contribute more not just tape and product but hard cash, this would help subsidise the clubs and it would not be essential to run large numbers, as at present it is necessary and on most occasions 50 is a large number but would not cover the costs of the events.
So here we go….. four events starting with
1. Whaddon - Milton Keynes – Sunday 2nd March – pm start
2. Towcester – Northants – Sunday 16th March – am start – quads only
Quads only pm 4x4 challenge
3. Shuckburgh Hall – Daventry – Sunday 7th June – am start – quads only
4. Tyn Twll – North Wales – am start

 | |  NoraSport - New owners! |
|
 |
Hot off the press is the fact that the MX side of Norasport now has new owners, Chris Murphy and Joe Harman are now the new owners and will be working hard to bring a lease of life back in to the dwindling numbers of last years events.
QH will do all they can to help the new owners of the club succeed this year with events and race news being promoted on here.
So, if you are looking for somewhere to race next year, you still have Norasport as well as the NETT club and Scottish Quad Racing, yes other clubs are also available!
Both Chris and Joe supported QH Racing when it was around and it is now only fair to return that gesture by helping them to become one of the most successful clubs in 2008.
Good luck guys - It ain't easy

 | |  Sdoc100 Textile Water-proofer |
|
 |
One squirt is all it takes to significantly improve your chances of staying dry this winter!
German scientists formulated Sdoc100 Textile Proofer to give Quad clothing and equipment an extra layer of protection from the wet by creating a waterproof coating.
Quad Bike gear has an incredibly tough job to do, because not only is it exposed to the elements, but also rainwater is driven against it, often at high speed, as the bike is ridden along.
The kitchen towel test proves just how effective Sdoc100 Textile Proofer is. Kitchen towels are designed to be incredibly absorbent, (below left), yet when sprayed with Sdoc100 Textile Proofer the water forms into droplets and runs off (below right).
Sdoc100 Textile Proofer is easily applied by spraying and can be used for clothing (jackets, trousers, boots and gloves) as well as other useful items, such as rucksacks, tank bags, panniers, etc. It offers excellent moisture protection with extremely long-lasting action and even keeps the breathability of waterproof membranes.
On top of all that it protects against UV bleaching too.
Price: £10.80 Including VAT at 17.5%

 | |  Risk Racing - The Holeshot gate |
|
 |
Getting a holeshot is easy right? ...Wrong, but most races are won and lost at the drop of the gate. Perfecting your starting technique is key to any MX racer who wants to be on the podium. Now racers can improve their reaction time and learn to control power out of the gate and into the first corner.
The “Holeshot” is a random timed, electronic, wireless, practice starting gate. This innovative product allows riders to independently practice their starts. When the rider presses the wireless remote button mounted on their crossbar pad, it will activate a computer controlled timing sequence which will drop the gate randomly. Watch the glowing LED, when it starts blinking it is like the 30 second board turning sideways. The gate will drop randomly between 1-5 seconds. Resetting the gate is as easy as riding by and stepping on the backside of the hoop without dismounting. Weighing only 14lbs, the gate is also lightweight and portable. Stake the gate to the ground and practice starts anywhere. Multiple gates can be electronically linked for multi-racer practice. When multiple gates are linked, all the gates will fall on the same randomly timed sequence. Warning: Banging bars with your fellow racers can be addictive!
The “Holeshot” is powered by 8 “AA” batteries and comes with one race gate, one remote starting button, crossbar pad mounting strap, linking wire, and 4 heavy duty ground stakes.

 | |  John Mitchell is European Quad-X Champion 2007 |
|
 |
Over 5,000 spectators witnessed ATV World Yamaha rider John Mitchell's victory in the final round of the 2007 European Quadcross Championships at Castelnau de Levis, France. There was also reason to celebrate for ATV World Yamaha's other rider Paul Holmes, as he achieved the points needed to finish third in the championship
In race one of the final round, it was John Mitchell who took the holeshot and immediately began to pull ahead. As John extended his lead to 15 seconds, Paul Holmes was locked in a thrilling battle with Leon Beda. Paul held Beda at bay and eventually pulled away to take fifth place. John won the race in front of Ricky Tordoff and Stefan Schreiber, while Jeremie Warnia his nearest rival in the championship, finished fourth.
John was now leading by 21 points, needing only five points to take the title. Both John and Paul's ATV World Yamaha YFZ450's were performing perfectly and with the whole ATV World crew in the pits, the final preparations for the last race of the championship were made.
It was perfect racing conditions on the demanding French track as race two began and John Mitchell once again took the holeshot. With only five points required he knew that a steady race would secure him overall victory. Meanwhile, Paul Holmes crashed his ATV World Yamaha YFZ450 and was unable to finish. With enough points to seal third, Paul joined the ATV World pit team to support John. At this point John was in fourth place and looking comfortable. With five minutes left of the 30 minute race he made the pass to take third, finishing behind Warnia and Schreiber.
It was yet another round of world class action as John finished with a 16 point lead to take the crown of 2007 European Quadcross Champion. As the 5,000 plus spectators cheered John's victory, Warnia and Holmes took to the podium and the traditional champagne soaking began!
John said "After winning the British and now the European Championship, I'm really pleased with my performance this year. Today has been amazing! The track was superb and the whole championship has been very well organised. The crowds have been massive and it's great to ride in front of so many people. My ATV World Yamaha YFZ450 has performed so well I couldn't have asked for better. The team have worked 100% both at the track and through the development stage of preparing my quad. Thanks to them and my sponsors, it's been an incredible year."

 | |  New QH web site launched - www.qhriders.com |
|
 |
After months and months of hard work and design, the newest QH site has finally been launched at www.qhriders.com
QH Riders may appear similar to other sites like Bebo or MySpace, however, the main difference between those and QH Riders is the fact that it has been designed just for quad riders.
When you create your account at QH Riders one of the questions it asks you for is your style of riding ie: Do you ride:
On road only
On road and off road
On road and green lanes
Any off road
Enduro only
Quad-X only
Or you do not ride.
It also asks you to list your nearest large town, your city and your country, all of this information is used to allow other members to search for riders similar or near to them and enables you to make contact with them via the internal mail system.
Every member has their own specific page where they detail everything about them, upload as many photos as they like in their gallery, upload YouTube videos, create their own blog, events, and have their own list of friends just like MySpace.
Membership to the site, just like all other QH sites is free of charge and the site, although still in BETA development stage is ready for the world to access.
So if you're ready to tell the quad world about yourself, get over there now and create your own page.
We hope you enjoy using the site as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
